Personalised Marketing
You've spent considerable hours working out the design and content of your sales
brochure, you have printed off a small quantity and tested it to be sure that it
works, so now what? Do you print off thousands, send them to a letterbox
distribution company and then wait? If that is your strategy you will probably
get about a 3% response to your mail, if it's printed in colour. Cannot be too
happy with that.
Why not use direct marketing? With variable data and Digital Printing you can
target your prospects personally, rather than use the old scattergun approach.
Using your database (or you can buy a mail list, there are many in the
marketplace), we can personalise each piece of your material with the name,
address and any other details of the person you wish to send it to. Using this
technique you will have a much better chance of avoiding the junk mail tag and
having your brochure confined to the bin without a second glance.
More bang for your Buck
Sure the cost per unit is higher, but by direct mail you can cut down the number
of pieces you print, saving our trees for a start, so instead of printing 10,000
units you could possibly print 500 or 1000, and statistics have shown that
personally addressed mail can have a response rate of up to 9%... that's up to
6% better than the scattergun approach. Overall you can save money by printing
and distributing less.
Depending on the quantity you print, you can then either have the items sent to
a mail house for distribution.
But remember, by printing in smaller quantities you can do a lot of the work
in-house, saving even more $$$. By printing each recipient's name on the
brochure we can position and then fold it so that it will fall into the window
space on a window face envelope. All you have to do then is pop it into the
envelope, seal it and then lodge it at your local post office.
If you want to make it a little more interesting to your prospective client, put some novelty
item into the envelope as well, something like a pen with your name etc, this
will often ensure that your message is read.
